Guillaume Boussens, a high-altitude winemaker at Dernacueillette in the Hautes Corbières (the highest vines can reach 690m) is not only passionate about his terroir, but also a warm and imposing figure. His presence inspires as much as his wines. He's a big guy, but his gentleness and benevolence are reflected in his cuvées.
In 2003, he vinified his first harvest in his 17th century cellar, which he has renovated over the years.
He owns 14 hectares with three main grape varieties, Carignan, Grenache and Syrah. His fresh wines are matured slowly (24 months minimum) in vats or tuns before bottling. Yields are naturally low, with a maximum of 20 hl/hectare.
Just like him, Guillaume's wines are authentic, elegant and full of sincerity, revealing all the richness of the Corbières terroir.
